IVFDF 1982 was starting from a very low bank balance - at least it was positive in the end:
we had half expected to start with a debt! We needed advance funds to pay for posters,
badges, T-shirts etc, so we asked the University Arts Committee for a loan. They very kindly
provided one, along with the hope that it would not be spent on the purchase of
printed T-shirts. Guess what we spent it on!
We repaid the money after the festival, which seemed to surprise them!
